Due to their versatility, this genus has \r\nbecome one of the most commercially utilized beneficial microbes in agriculture. However, the full potential\r\n of various <em data-start=\"927\" data-end=\"940\">Pseudomonas<\/em> species remains underexplored, highlighting the need for greater focus in sustainable \r\nfarming systems.\r\nThe bio-capsule has been jointly developed by ICAR\u2013National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources (NBAIR),\r\n Bangalore, and ICAR\u2013Indian Institute of Spices Research (IISR), Kozhikode, for farmer benefit. The effective \r\nbioagent strain was identified by NBAIR and subsequently formulated into capsule form using IISR\u2019s patented encapsulation technology.\r\nThis bioformulation contains a highly efficient plant growth\u2013promoting and abiotic stress-tolerant biocontrol \r\nagent. The bacterial strain demonstrates resilience under extreme conditions, including high temperatures up \r\nto 50\u00b0C, salinity levels of 1.5 M NaCl, and drought stress up to \u201310.28 MPa. It produces several plant-beneficial\r\n enzymes such as phosphatases, proteases, chitinase, cellulase, and ACC deaminase, along with secondary \r\nmetabolites like hydrogen cyanide (HCN), which contribute to pest and disease suppression.\r\nField studies indicate that the strain effectively controls Thrips and inhibits major soil-borne pathogens \r\nincluding <em data-start=\"2043\" data-end=\"2063\">Sclerotium rolfsii<\/em>, <em data-start=\"2065\" data-end=\"2085\">Rhizoctonia solani<\/em>, and <em data-start=\"2091\" data-end=\"2111\">Fusarium oxysporum<\/em>. It also produces proline, helping \r\nplants maintain stability under stress conditions. Additionally, the bacterium exhibits strong rhizosphere \r\ncompetence, establishing well in soil populations (up to log 8.7 CFU\/g), and performs effectively under saline \r\nand water-limited environments.\r\nEach bio-capsule of <em data-start=\"2418\" data-end=\"2443\">Pseudomonas fluorescens<\/em> (1 gram) contains approximately 100 billion colony-forming units \r\n(CFU). One capsule can be mixed with 100 liters of water and applied to the soil.
